Buono To Present Joint Legislative Resolution To Indian Business Association

TRENTON – On Monday, January 11, 2010, Senator Barbara Buono (D-Middlesex) will formally present the Indian Business Association (IBA) with a Joint Legislative Resolution honoring their promotion of commerce, civic engagement, and community activism on the Senate floor. For the past fifteen years, the Indian Business Association has been committed to promoting a supportive economic climate for businesses in the Oak Tree Road area of Edison Township, as well as preserving Indo-American culture.

The Indian Business Association was founded to serve the needs of growing community. In the past 15 years, the Indian Business Association has encouraged civic activity, volunteerism, and cultural celebration. It has worked effectively to develop policies to support the Townships of Edison and Woodbridge, and the County of Middlesex.

“In these tough economic times, it is organizations like the Indian Business Association that help small businesses prosper. Through their members and staff, the Indian Business Association has worked tirelessly to make Middlesex County a model for economic success,” said Senator Buono. “It is important to recognize organizations like these for their continuing leadership in promoting community activism and economic prosperity.”

The Indian Business Association has made tremendous efforts to revitalize Oak Tree Road through their cooperation with local officials and area law enforcement to help secure free public parking, eliminate vandalism, and promote marketing activities. It has also been the proud sponsor of the Annual Official New Jersey Indian Day Parade since 2004, helping to celebrate Indo-American heritage and promote civic activity.

“The Indian Business Association plays a fundamental role in promoting cultural awareness. The Annual Official New Jersey India Day Parade highlights the beautiful traditions of the Indo-American culture and helps preserves Indo-American heritage in the community, as well as generations to come,” said Senator Buono. “This parade is just one of many wonderful events hosted by the Indian Business Association which displays their unwavering dedication to community activism.”
