TRENTON — Senate President Richard J. Codey (D-Essex) today responded to the latest revenue projections released by Governor Corzine with the following statement:
“These are very sobering numbers. While this is obviously not good news, it speaks to the fact that we were prudent in making sizeable cuts to our budget last June. Even at that time, no one could have anticipated the depths of the nation’s economic woes.
“This means more belt tightening is in order this year at both the state and local levels. Everything in our budget needs to be reviewed. Nothing should be taken off the table, including the gold on the dome.”
