Cryan Praises Governor Hochul’s Decision to Postpone Congestion Pricing Plan

TRENTON – Senator Joe Cryan (D-Union), the author of a Senate resolution, SR-103, expressing the New Jersey Senate’s opposition to New York’s congestion pricing plan, released the following statement in support of New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s decision to postpone the proposal that would increase fees for commuters:

“I want to compliment Governor Hochul for listening to those who expressed opposition to the program, including the New Jersey Senate. She is doing the sensible thing for New Jersey commuters as well as the regional economy. This plan would have an adverse financial impact on working people who need to travel across state lines for their jobs and other activities. It would make their lives more expensive and more difficult. New York and New Jersey need to work collaboratively in the best interests of the residents of both states.”
