Judiciary Committee To Consider Corrections, Children And Families And Human Services Nominees Monday

TRENTON – The Senate Judiciary Committee will meet Monday at 11:30 AM in Committee Room 4 of the State House Annex to consider three of Governor Christie’s cabinet-level nominees:

� Janet F. Rosenzweig, of Yardley, Pa., to serve as Commissioner of the Department of Children and Families.

� Gary M. Lanigan, of Staten Island, N.Y., to head the Department of Corrections.

� Jennifer Velez, of Summit, to continue serving as Commissioner of the Department of Human Services.

To date, the Judiciary Committee has approved seven nominations made by Governor Christie: Paula Dow as Attorney General; Major General Glenn Rieth as the Adjutant General of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs; Andrew Sidamon-Eristoff as State Treasurer; Robert M. Czech, Esq. as head of the Civil Service Commission; Lee A. Solomon, Esq. as President of the Board of Public Utilities; Bret Schundler as Education Commissioner and James S. Simpson as Transportation Commissioner.

Schundler and Simpson must still go before the full Senate for confirmation.
