Madden Statement On Dem Budget Passage

TRENTON – Senator Fred Madden (D-Gloucester/Camden) released the following statement following passage of the Democratic budget in the Senate. The Senate passed the legislation by a vote of 23-15:

“Today, the Legislature passed a spending plan that increases funding to our schools, that provides additional money to municipalities to support police and fire and restores funding to the Senior Freeze program, which puts direct property tax relief in the hands of our seniors. Furthermore, our plan funds critical health care programs for those who need them most.

“Put simply, the Democratic budget is a responsible plan that focuses on maintaining the safety of our neighborhoods, protecting the livelihoods of our seniors and ensuring our children are given the promise of a quality education that they deserve.”
