** Media Advisory** Lesniak To Introduce Opportunity Scholarships Act At News Conference On Monday

TRENTON – Senator Raymond Lesniak will hold a news conference on Monday, March 22nd at 11:00 AM in State House Room 103 to introduce his “Opportunity Scholarships Act,” legislation that would establish the “Educational Innovation” pilot program in the Department of Education and create a pilot program in the Department of Treasury to provide tax credits to entities that endow scholarships for eligible low-income students.

Martin Perez of the Latino Leadership Alliance, Bishop Edward deCunha, Auxiliary Bishop of Essex County, and Rev. Reginald T. Jackson, Executive Director for the Black Ministers’ Council of NJ will also speak on the bill. Additionally, representatives from E3, CIANJ, NJBIA, Agudath Israel of NJ, the Orthodox Union, The New Jersey Taxpayer Association, The New Jersey Network of Catholic School Families, other members of the NJ School Choice and Education Reform Alliance, and local school administrators will be in attendance to support Senator Lesniak’s efforts to enhance educational opportunities for low-income students.
