Before the Governor’s State of the State address to the Legislature, Senate Democratic leaders including Senate President Steve Sweeney, D-Gloucester, Cumberland and Salem, Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg, D-Bergen, and President Pro Temp Nia H. Gill, D-Essex and Passaic, spoke about the issues facing New Jerseyans before and after Hurricane Sandy, including record-high unemployment, a soaring rate of mortgage foreclosures, the Republican War on Women and the inability to access quality, affordable health care, all exacerbated by the leadership of Governor Chris Christie.
