Senator Van Drew Statement On Proposed FY 2011 State Budget

CAMDEN – State Senator Jeff Van Drew, D-Cape May, Atlantic and Cumberland counties, a member of the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee, released the following statement today after hearing from residents on the proposed FY 2011 budget at the Committee’s second public hearing held at Rutgers-Camden School of Law:

“During this budget process, we need to make sure that we fight to restore property tax relief for seniors and working families and continue to stimulate the economy through the UEZ program.

“It is unfair to make cuts to programs that are going to indirectly increase taxes on residents while the top 1 percent of income earners in our state will essentially receive a tax cut.”
