01 Feb: Madden Bill To Allow Beach Badge Discount For Service Members Clears Senate Military And Veterans’ Affairs Panel

TRENTON – A measure sponsored by Senator Fred H. Madden, which would permit local municipalities to provide free or low cost beach and recreational grounds badges for active military personnel was unanimously approved today by the Senate Military and Veterans’ Affairs Committee.

“Our military personnel work very hard, and this bill would allow them and their families to play hard as well,” said Senator Madden, D-Camden and Gloucester. “There are already a few municipalities that offer the reduced cost and free badges for military personnel, but enactment of this legislation would allow all towns the option of doing so. The bill would serve as a way for local towns to thank the men and women who so selflessly put their lives on the line protecting our freedom.”
