Turner: Gun Ring Arrests Make Trenton ‘A Little Bit Safer’

Senator Congratulates Law Enforcement on Job Well Done

TRENTON – Senator Shirley K. Turner (D-Mercer/Hunterdon) today released the following statement upon learning of the arrest of eight individuals in Trenton on charges of illegally selling firearms:

“I congratulate both the State Police and Trenton Police in their successful efforts to keep these illegal guns off our streets and to put these criminals out of business. Regardless of where one stands in the national debate on guns, this is a rare bright spot where we all can agree: those who seek to profit from flouting our gun laws should be treated no differently than those who commit a crime with an illegal firearm.

“While the fight against illegal guns on our streets is far from over, hopefully the apprehension of these dealers will make Trenton just a little bit safer. Colonel Fuentes, Police Director Rivera and Attorney General Chiesa – whom I have had the pleasure of working with to make Trenton safer – all deserve thanks for a job well done.”
