Weinberg Statement on Select Committee Hearings

Trenton – Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg issued the following statement on the hearings of the Senate Select Committee on Economic Growth:

“Today’s hearing included compelling evidence of the progress that has been made in Camden. There are other communities in New Jersey that would like to realize similar benefits. I look forward to the policy recommendations of the committee on how to improve economic opportunities for more communities, their businesses and, most importantly, their residents. That, after all, is the mission of the Select Committee and the goal of its members.

“I want to thank Chairman Senator Bob Smith and the members of the Committee for their work on the challenging issue of tax incentives and economic growth, despite the disruptions at today’s hearing. It is important that we identify the most effective ways to develop policies that will help create jobs and expand economic opportunities, especially for urban communities that are most in need.”
