Mr. Gopal is a 2007 graduate of Penn State University.

The senator is a marketing and business development professional. He is the owner and operator of Direct Development L.L.C. and Community Magazine. He also created a nonprofit civic association to help groups affected by the high cost of living maintain their economic independence.

The Senate term to which he was elected Nov. 7, 2017, is his first elective office.
