Chair
Patrick J. Diegnan, Jr. represents the 18th Legislative District of New Jersey. The district includes, East Brunswick, Edison, Helmetta, Metuchen, South Plainfield, South River and Highland Park, all located in Middlesex County. He was elected to the New Jersey General Assembly in 2001 and was re-elected to his eighth term in November of 2015. He was sworn into the Senate on May 9, 2016.

Senator Vitale was born Nov. 10, 1954, in Elizabeth. He attended public schools in Woodbridge where he graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. He is president of Vitale Sign Corporation, a family-owned business founded in 1950. The Senate term to which he was elected Nov. 7, 2017, is his seventh.
