ECONOMIC GROWTH
Senator Nilsa Cruz-Pérez was born and raised in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She studied at the University of Puerto Rico, majoring in Political Science, while working for the Popular Democratic Party. In 1981, Nilsa joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Mainz Military Community in Germany. While serving, she furthered her education by studying at the U.S. Quartermaster School, Big Bend Community College, Temple University and the University of Maryland (overseas division). In 1987, she was honorably discharged from the military.


Senator Troy Singleton was first elected to the New Jersey State Senate in November of 2017. He is a graduate of Rowan University with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration specializing in Finance. In 2011, he was elected to his first term in the New Jersey General Assembly, representing the 7th Legislative District. During his previous tenure in the General Assembly, Senator Singleton served on the Assembly Budget, Education (Vice Chairman), State & Local Government (Chairman) and the Tourism & Gaming (Vice Chair) Committees. His primary focus remains on job creation, economic development and the needs of New Jersey’s working families. Senator Singleton has received numerous awards for his public service and legislative acumen from business, education civic, labor and non-profit organizations.
