Adler Bill To Help Oaklyn Lake

TRENTON – The Senate today approved a bill sponsored by Senator John H. Adler to provide $15 million in voter-approved bond funds for loans to improve the conditions of streams and lakes throughout New Jersey including $4 million for Peter’s Creek Lake in Oaklyn.

“These improvements represent a cooperative effort by local and state government and private owners to keep our waterways in good condition,” said Senator Adler whose 6th Legislative District includes Oaklyn.

The measure, S-1710, passed 38-0 and now goes to the Assembly.

“This bond funding will help cover costs of dredging, stream cleaning and de-snagging projects,” Senator Adler said.

Other major projects earmarked by the Department of Environmental Protection include $2.24 million for Haynes Creek and Jackson Memorial Park in Medford Lakes Colony; $1.69 million for Upper Echo Lake in Union County; $1.39 million for Upper Lake and Lower Lake in Birchwood Lakes Colony, and $1.31 million for Franklin Lake in West Long Branch.
