Federal action would help bridge New Jersey’s gender pay gap
EDISON – Senator Barbara Buono, D- Middlesex, made the following after U.S. Senate Republicans voted to continue their filibuster of the Paycheck Fairness Act:
“The Republicans in Washington should be ashamed of themselves today for their continued filibuster of the Paycheck Fairness Act. This should not be a partisan issue, yet today’s vote goes to show you that any claims that Washington Republicans support gender equality or working families are pure lip service. The Republican filibuster confirms that they are more interested in maintaining a status quo resulting in New Jersey women receiving considerably less income for the same work.”
