TRENTON – Senator and former Governor Richard J. Codey (D-Essex) today released the following statement congratulating New Jersey’s newest Governor Christopher J. Christie on the occasion of his inauguration:
“I want to congratulate Governor Christie and wish him all the best as he takes over the reigns today.
“Every time a new Governor is sworn in, we all underscore the gravity of the tasks that lie ahead. But this year, there is no need to exaggerate the magnitude of the challenges we face. Governor Christie takes over at a time when the entire nation is gripped by an economic crisis and New Jersey is caught squarely in this vice.
“I wish the Governor much success as he works to tackle these challenges and I look forward to being a constructive part of the solution.”
