Codey Statement On Senate Approval Of Haines Nomination To Judgeship

TRENTON – Senator Richard J. Codey, D-Essex, issued the following statement regarding the Senate’s unanimous approval today of State Senator Phil Haines for a superior court judgeship:

“I’ve had the extreme pleasure of getting to know Senator Haines over the last few years. He has proven to be a thoughtful gentleman who was willing to reach out to all legislators, regardless of political affiliation, in order to raise the level of discourse in the New Jersey Legislature.

“At a time when politics in New Jersey and throughout the country is a divisive blood-sport, Senator Haines was able to maintain a level of kindness, decency and civility to all of his fellow legislators.

“I know that Senator Haines’ honesty, civility and decency will serve him well on the bench, and will be a boon to the people of Burlington County as he transitions to a new position in public service.”
