Trenton – Senate Higher Education Chair Sandra Bolden Cunningham issued the following statement reinforcing her support for the Legislature’s expansion of the Community College Opportunity Grant:
“I wholeheartedly stand behind the Legislature’s budgetary decisions regarding the Community College Opportunity Grant. I am grateful we were able to meet the requests of the Community College Presidents and I look forward to seeing the program continue to grow. Expanding the requirements for eligibility will allow even more students, young and old, the chance to continue their education without accruing crippling debt. This is a great program for New Jersey, and with this year’s changes it will become even better. Giving people more access to educational opportunities will not only improve their lives, it will grow the state’s workforce and propel our overall economy.”
