Madden, Smith, Mayer To Hold Thanksgiving Drive To Benefit Troops

TURNERSVILLE – Senator Fred H. Madden and Assemblymen David R. Mayer and Robert J. Smith in conjunction with Land Dimensions Engineering will be sponsoring a Thanksgiving drive to benefit the troops stationed in the Middle East.

“These men and women are in the Middle East, working to restore world-wide peace,” said Senator Madden, D-Camden and Gloucester. ” These soldiers are risking their lives to help us maintain ours in a manner to which we are accustomed, and I think that it is the least we can do to help provide them with these basic necessities.

“As we give thanks for the many freedoms we have in the United States, it is appropriate for us to remember the many soldiers who are serving our country abroad,” said Assemblyman Mayer, D-Gloucester Twp. ” Collecting these items sends a message to our military personnel that we support them and remember their sacrifice during the holiday season.”

“The holidays can be busy for us all, so it is important that we stop and remember the troops who are stationed overseas,” said Assemblyman Smith, D-Washington Twp. “Sending out soldiers a few comforts of home will let them know they are remembered and appreciated.”

From November 3 to the 12, donations will be collected at the district office of Madden, Smith, and Mayer located at 129 Johnson Rd. Suite 1 in Turnersville, and at the Land Dimensions Engineering Company, which is located at 6 High Street in Glassboro. The Legislators are asking for donations of toiletries, snack items (excluding chocolate), activity and crossword puzzle books, batteries and disposable cameras.
