Poll workers in New Jersey will start earning more money for their work on Election Day.
Gov. Phil Murphy on Friday signed a bill to increase pay for election workers in the state from $200 a day to $300 a day. It also appropriates $7 million to the New Jersey Department of State to help fund the payments.
The measure, A208/S1290, sailed through both houses of the Legislature on Thursday, clearing Assembly without any discussion by a 74-0 vote and the state Senate with a 37-0 vote.
