In this video news release, Senator Nia Gill, D-Essex and Passaic, and Chairwoman of the Senate Commerce Committee, talks about her legislation which would have established a health exchange program in New Jersey. Governor Christie vetoed the legislation earlier this week in expectation that the Supreme Court will find the federal health reform law unconstitutional. Senator Gill points out that until the Supreme Court renders a decision, the health reform law is still the law of the land, and that the State’s policies should be governed by the federal law.
