Preview – Senate Budget Panel To Continue Discussion On Proposed Budget Next Week

TRENTON – The Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee will continue their hearings on Governor Corzine’s proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2008 next Tuesday and Wednesday.

“These hearings provide us with the opportunity to sit with the public and cabinet officials to see which programs have been effective over the past year and where our funding priorities should be for the year ahead,” said Senator Bernard F. Kenny, Jr., D-Hudson and Chair of the Committee. “The discussions we have now are essential in putting together a final budget that best serves the people of New Jersey.”

On Tuesday, March 27, the Committee will hold their second hearing for public comment on the Budget. The hearing will be held in the Pemberton Room at the Enterprise Center of Burlington County College in Mt. Laurel and begin at 9:00 a.m.

On Wednesday, March 28, the Committee will hold a pair of hearings to receive an overview of the Budget and revenue forecasts. The Office of Legislative Services will present their overview at 10:00 a.m. while State Treasurer Bradley Abelow will brief the Committee at 1:30 p.m. Both hearings will be held in Committee Room 4 of the State House Annex.
