Trenton – Senate President Pro Tempore M. Teresa Ruiz issued the following statement on First Lady Tammy Murphy and New Jersey Human Services Commissioner Carole Johnson’s announcement of a $54 million increase in funding for the state’s child care subsidy program:
“This is something I have advocated for my entire career, and I am grateful the Murphy Administration shares in my determination to make quality childcare accessible for all parents in our state. We are a very diverse state, with people of all socioeconomic backgrounds and we have to do everything in our power to create equity early on in life. Incentivizing quality improvements will lead to better child care services, which can have a major impact on the development and long-term academic success of our state’s most valuable asset, our children.”
