Senate Transportation Committee Chair Pledges to Work with New Port Authority Deputy to Ensure New Jersey’s Interests are Represented
TRENTON – Senate Transportation Chairman Nicholas J. Sacco, D-Hudson and Bergen, issued the following statement today regarding the announcement that Senator Bill Baroni, R-Mercer and Middlesex, would be heading to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to serve as Deputy Executive Director:
“I look forward to working with Senator Baroni in his new capacity, both as the Senate Transportation Committee Chairman, and as an elected representative of the people in Hudson County. Decisions made at the Port Authority have a very real impact on our side of the river, and I know Senator Baroni will do his best to make sure New Jersey has a voice at the table.
“Whether it’s the construction of the Hudson ARC Tunnel, security upgrades at Newark Liberty International Airport, boosting the clearance at the Bayonne Bridge, or the redevelopment of the World Trade Center property, the next few years are going to mean big changes at the Port Authority. I’m glad Senator Baroni will be there representing our interests, and I look forward to speaking to him about his vision for New Jersey’s transportation future.”
