Senator Baer on Driver Safety Technology

TRENTON – Senator Byron M. Baer, D-Bergen and Chair of the Senate Commerce Committee, made the following statement regarding the formation of the Task Force on Intelligent Technology Services to explore the use of technology to increase driver safety and drive down the cost of auto insurance. The task force is comprised of experts in law enforcement, highway safety, and insurance, and is rooted in a collective belief that the implementation of high technology systems in vehicles will reduce accidents and put a downward pressure on automobile insurance rates.
