Singleton to be Honored by STFA as Legislator of the Year

Trenton – Senator Troy Singleton was chosen by the State Troopers Fraternal Association (STFA) to be honored as the 2020 Legislator of the Year. The awards ceremony will be held this June in Old Bridge.

“It is an honor to be named Legislator of the Year by the State Troopers Fraternal Association,” said Senator Singleton (D-Burlington). “New Jersey’s State Troopers are on the front line of dangerous, harrowing and stressful situations that put them in harm’s way each and every day.  Yet, they do so without reservation. Whether they are aiding victims at a motor vehicle accident, or responding to a horrific crime scene, our troopers demonstrate tremendous courage and resilience. That is why I am proud to sponsor initiatives that give them the tools they need to stay physically safe and emotionally strong, and am even more proud of this recognition.”

“The State Troopers Fraternal Association is proud to honor Senator Troy Singleton as the Association’s Legislator of the Year,” said Wayne Blanchard, President of the State Troopers Fraternal Association. “Senator Singleton has been a longtime friend and supporter of the men and women of the Association. The Association wishes to recognize Senator Singleton in particular for his work during the 218th Legislative Session, by sponsoring legislation to enhance trooper safety such as strengthening the ‘Move Over Law’. In addition, Senator Singleton continues to support our members by strengthening peer advocate programs and pushing forth legislation to provide our members pension reform.”

Founded in 1963, the purpose of the STFA is to improve the working conditions of the members of the New Jersey State Police. They work to boost the morale of the New Jersey State Police and to provide increased incentives to enable the members thereof to perform their duties with a high degree of perfection and integrity” and represent them to the best of their ability.
