SWEENEY STATEMENT ON 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF ASSASSINATION OF PRESIDENT KENNEDY

Supreme Court

TRENTON Senate President Steve Sweeney issued the following statement today, the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy:

“President Kennedy represented the hope of a greater future for our country. Whether it was landing a man on the moon, establishing the Peace Corps, or pushing for landmark Civil Rights legislation, he left an amazing legacy of progressive policies that sought to make the world a better place. It is an example we can still learn from even fifty years after his tragic assassination.

“While I was only four years old on that November Friday, the impact of JFK was forever felt in the Irish Catholic, working class Sweeney household. Let us not just remember his passing, but also reflect on all he did as president and all he would have accomplished.”
