09 Jan: Doria Bill For Off-Site Car Sales Receives Final Legislative Approval

TRENTON – Legislation sponsored by Senator Joseph V. Doria Jr., which would allow used car dealers to obtain a permit from the Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) for a sale away from the dealer’s lot, received final legislative approval today in the Senate by a vote of 33 to 5.

“Currently, the MVC requires all car sales to take place at the established place of business, but this limits some car companies from getting their vehicles to the public,” said Senator Doria, D-Hudson. “The bill is a win-win situation. It will increase the number of vehicles available in the market and help provide car dealers with the opportunity to showcase vehicles that are for sale.”
