Senator M. Teresa Ruiz joined local, state, and federal officials in urging US Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao to come to New Jersey to get a firsthand look at the state’s mass transportation system. Senator Ruiz said the visit would demonstrate the importance of the transit system to the regional and national economies and the critical need for the federal government to preserve and expedite funding for the Gateway Rail Tunnel project.
