VIDEO – Sen. Sarlo Discusses the Need for the ACA in Budget

Sarlo 420 Budget

With the continued threat by Donald Trump to attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act, Senator Paul Sarlo, the chairman of the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee, warned of the devastating impact the loss of the health care program would have on New Jersey, on the state budget, our hospitals and the estimated 476,000 people who could lose coverage. A repeal of the expanded Medicaid funding in the ACA would cost New Jersey $1 billion to replace and we could lose the savings of $748 million in Charity Care funding that has reduced expenses for hospitals and the taxpayers. The financial consequences of a repeal would be severe.
