Weinberg Statement on International Women’s Day 2017

Senator Weinberg

TRENTON – Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg issued the following statement in honor of International Women’s Day:

“The presidential election highlighted the enormous amount of work still to be done in the fight for gender equity, and women are more motivated than ever to wage the battle. It’s a battle for equal pay, equal opportunities in jobs and education, and equal treatment in society. It’s a battle for access to health care, including reproductive health care, and for workplace policies that protect families. It’s a battle to end discrimination, sexual assault and domestic violence.

“International Women’s Day has been observed for more than 100 years. Today, as we recognize the progress that we’ve made over decades, we resolve to continue the important work that is left to do.”
