Whelan Responds To Polistina/Amodeo ‘Quest For The Perfect Bill’

‘Atlantic City Residents Need Jobs Now’

TRENTON – State Senator Jim Whelan, D-Atlantic, issued the following response to news accounts that Assembly members Vince Polistina and John Amodeo criticized the Senator for not waiting for the “perfect” bill regarding the future of Atlantic City’s casinos:

“If the Assemblymen manage to find the ‘perfect’ set of bills regarding Atlantic City’s gaming future, I’ll be happy to support those bills. But the fact remains that my wife has been looking for the perfect husband for 35 years, and she hasn’t found one yet, so she puts up with me.

“While my colleagues in the Assembly quest for the ‘perfect’ bill, I’ll be ready to push for approval and the Governor’s signature on a bill package which puts Atlantic City residents back to work and sets the groundwork for sustainability and economic stability for our ailing casino industry.”
