Trenton – Senate Higher Education Chair Senator Sandra Bolden Cunningham issued the following statement celebrating the release of guidelines for the grant funding from the Hunger Free Campus Act, legislation she authored:
“For many individuals college is extremely financially straining. The high cost of attendance has led to serious issues with food insecurity on campuses around the state and across the country. On top of tuition, the cost of books and other necessary supplies can amount to deep out of pocket expenses. This funding will go a long way in ensuring students do not have to choose between purchasing the items they need for class and purchasing food for themselves.”
