TRENTON – In observance of Veterans Day, on Saturday, November 11, 2017, Senator Nilsa Cruz-Perez (D- Camden-Gloucester), who is member of the Military and Veterans’ Affairs Committee in the Senate, and veteran of the United States Army, issued the following statement:
“On Veterans Day we celebrate the men and women who, with great sacrifice, defended the freedom and democratic values that we enjoy today. I am grateful to our veterans. They and their families have and continue making invaluable sacrifices for this great nation. As more servicemen and women come back from military engagement overseas I am committed to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to ensure they have the resources and opportunities they deserve.
“We owe it to these American heroes to ensure that they get all the help they need upon return and that opportunities in education and employment are readily accessible and available. It is the least that we can do as a society.
“I also want to thank the families of our veteransfor their unconditional support to the brave members of their family who devoted themselves to defend the values that make this country a model of democracy and freedom. Thank you for all your sacrifice.”
