Senator Turner discussing a bill on the Senate floor.

TRENTON – Senator Shirley K. Turner (D-Mercer/Hunterdon) issued this statement today following the governor’s signature of legislation known as the New Jersey Economic Opportunity Act of 2013:

“Today’s signing of the New Jersey Economic Opportunity Act of 2013 means a new day for Trenton. The new law will help generate much-needed jobs for the residents of the Capital City. It establishes Trenton as one of the four new Garden State Growth Zones in the state, which qualify for enhanced incentives for economic development in Trenton. Moreover, the law provides property tax abatements to help businesses invest resources to build and create jobs in the city. As one of the sponsors of the legislation, I applaud the Governor for working with us on crafting a bill that will help create jobs and stimulate development in Trenton.”
