Weinberg Applauds Murphy Selection of Muoio as State Treasurer

Weinberg

TRENTON – Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg (D-Bergen) today issued the following statement applauding the selection by Governor-elect Phil Murphy of Elizabeth Muoio to serve as state Treasurer:

“Assemblywoman Muoio is an outstanding choice for state Treasurer. We have worked collaboratively on legislation and served together on legislative committees, including the most recent joint Legislative Oversight and Assembly Judiciary Committee. She is incredibly intelligent, thoughtful and committed to public service. She is also someone who has a deep understanding of the fiscal realities faced by the state, and the real-life impact of the state budget on middle-class and working families in New Jersey.

“Liz has a terrific educational background and vast experience in government and politics. Having served at various levels of government and as chair of a county democratic committee, she has a unique understanding of how government operates and invaluable skills that will allow her to excel in the position and to advance policies for the benefit of the state’s residents.

“I am very impressed with Governor-elect Murphy’s three cabinet selections so far. With three great picks, he is batting 1.000.”
