SENATORS BARNES AND GORDON SAID FAMILIES DESERVED BETTER

Senator Peter J., Barnes III

TRENTON — Senators Peter Barnes (D-Middlesex) and Bob Gordon (D-Bergen) have issued the following joint statement on Gov. Chris Christie’s conditional veto of two bills (S2158, S2249) aimed at making the transfers of loved ones from in-state and out-of-state development centers more secure and comfortable for families and residents.

“We are extremely disappointed that Gov. Chris Christie has not accepted common sense changes to a rash policy that is unnecessarily hurting families all across New Jersey. We will review the governor’s recommended changes to determine if they provide the type of immediate support these families deserve. But we cannot accept any changes that fail to provide these families with the proper care and comfort they deserve.”
