Sweeney Delivers Keynote Address at CIANJ’s 92nd Annual Luncheon

Trenton – Senate President Steve Sweeney spoke about the need to make smart investments, improve government efficiency and enhance business friendly policies when he delivered a keynote address at the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey’s 92nd annual luncheon in East Rutherford.

“We need to invest in our basic state priorities. Our residents need property tax relief, our commuters deserve reliable public transportation, local schools, colleges and universities need state support and the business community needs smart investments,” said Senator Sweeney (D-Gloucester/Salem/Cumberland). “But if we are going to make any of these crucial investments in our state, we need major fiscal reforms.”

The Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey is a unique network of businesses committed to improving, advocating for and advancing the cause of free enterprise in the Garden State.

“Senator Sweeney understands how thriving businesses create thriving communities,” said Richard W. Abramson, Chairman of Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey. “We were honored to have him join us today for our annual luncheon and look forward to working with him in the years to come.”
The event was held at the Hilton Meadowlands Hotel and hosted approximately 500 business owners, bankers and law firms from across New Jersey.
