Easterseals’ Raritan Valley Workshop presented Senate President Steve Sweeney the Good Samaritan Award at their 49th annual awards celebration to thank him for his commitment to bettering the lives of individuals with disabilities. This week we heard from Senator Nellie Pou and Senator Nilsa Cruz-Perez during Hispanic Heritage Month on what it means for them to be a Hispanic woman in politics. Lastly, Senate President Steve Sweeney attended a summit in New York City to discuss a regional approach to regulating cannabis and vaping with the Governors of New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island.
