Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg held a press conference this week to seek immediate solutions to the toxic climate of misogyny, harassment and sexual assault that continues to pervade New Jersey politics. Senate President Steve Sweeney, Deputy Speaker John Burzichelli and Assemblyman Adam Taliaferro participated in a town hall in Bridgeton this week. Lastly, over 100 bills were signed into law this week including several reforms to New Jersey’s juvenile justice system concerning incarceration and parole, the prohibition on the sale or distribution of flavored vaping products and a bill preventing criminal defendants from asserting “gay and transgender panic” defense.
